We have been looking for a better carseat for Eeyek. One that can recline, comfy and has good safety features. After researching for a while, I found this Britax Marathon piece that has 4.75/5 star review. It looks a little simple to me but guess other parents who has tried it should know better! Only setback is that it doesn't have a cup holder. I find the print very cute! Somehow I hope we won't feel dizzy after looking it for a while...like 5hours drive to Jasper!

Our New Wheels

We needed to return the Saturn Vue after we got back from Malaysia. It was on a lease. So since we are gonna be here for another few years (sob sob Curry Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Sambal Petai) we decided to get our own. After all it's wiser to do so. Hubby spotted this XC90 at a Volvo dealer. Quite a few years old, 2004 to be exact but in terrific condition. Not my ideal colour tho cos to me black or white is NOT a colour! Guess what? This car is even cheaper than a Toyota Vios in Malaysia. Well, well, well....

P is for Puffs

For the record, I won't be seen leaving home without Puffs! They are cute, yummy and life-saving. Why? Because my 13mos old little man would do anything for puffs. It's whole grain healthy baby melt-in-the-mouth snack. He ate them so fast we had to run to a supermarket in San Diego to get another tub. We just had to. They calm nerves. Ours I mean.

My Favourite Painting - Terrasse du café le soir, Place du forum, Arles

Cafe Terrace at Night, also known as The Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum, is an oil painting executed by the Dutch artist Vincent Willem van Gogh on an industrially primed canvas of size 25 (Toile de 25 figure) in Arles, France, mid September 1888. The painting is not signed, but described and mentioned by the artist in his letters on various occasions - and, as well, there is a large pen drawing of the composition which originates from the artist's estate. 

Still today, visitors of the site can take the place at the north eastern corner of the Place du Forum where the artist set up his ease. He looked south towards the artificially lighted terrace of the popular coffee house as well as into the enforced darkness of the rue leading up to the building structure far back comprising the town house (to the left, not pictured) and, beyond this structure, the tower of a former church (now Musée lapidaire). Towards the right, Van Gogh indicated a shop lighted as well, and some branches of the trees surrounding the place—but he omitted the remainders of the roman monuments just aside this little shop. Van Gogh used oil paint on canvas  and the painting is 81 × 65.5 cm (32" × 26"). The painting is currently at the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, Netherlands.

After finishing Cafe Terrace at Night, Van Gogh wrote a letter to his sister expressing his enthusiasm:

“

I was only interrupted by my work on a new painting representing the exterior of a night café . On the terrace there are small figures of people drinking. An immense yellow lantern illuminates the terrace, the facade, the side walk and even casts light on the paving stones of the road which take a pinkish violet tone. The gables of the houses, like a fading road below a blue sky studded with stars, are dark blue or violet with a green tree. Here you have a night painting without black, with nothing but beautiful blue and violet and green and in this surrounding the illuminated area colours itself sulfur pale yellow and citron green. It amuses me enormously to paint the night right on the spot. Normally, one draws and paints the painting during the daytime after the sketch. But I like to paint the thing immediately. It is true that in the darkness I can take a blue for a green, a blue lilac for a pink lilac, since it is hard to distinguish the quality of the tone. But it is the only way to get away from our conventional night with poor pale whitish light, while even a simple candle already provides us with the richest of yellows and oranges.
